This Privacy Policy explains how IOTREND (Pty) Ltd ("IOTREND", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses and shares your personal information when you visit www.iotrend.co.za (the "Website"), buy from us, contact us or join our email list. We process personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us

Contact details: name, email address and phone number.
Order details: billing and delivery addresses, products bought, order history and payment status.
Account details: login details and saved addresses, if you create an account.
Messages: what you send us by email, WhatsApp, phone or the contact form.
Reviews and rewards: your product reviews and rewards points, if you use them.

Information collected automatically

When you use the Website or open our emails, we collect your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, products added to cart, and email opens and clicks. We use cookies and similar technology for this (see section 4).

Information from service providers

Our payment providers confirm whether your payment succeeded. We never see or store your full card number.

You must give your name, contact details and address to place an order. Without them, we cannot process or deliver it. All other information is voluntary.

3. How We Use Your Information

Orders and service: to process payments, deliver orders, send order and delivery updates, and handle returns and warranty claims.
Customer support: to answer your questions and help you choose the right product.
Marketing: to send emails about new products, restocks and advice, only if you subscribed. Subscribers may also get reminders about products they viewed or left in their cart. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
Security: to prevent fraud and protect the Website.
Improvement: to improve the Website and measure our advertising.
Legal duties: to meet tax, consumer and other legal requirements.

When you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a do-not-contact list so we do not email you again. We never sell, rent or lease your personal information.

4. Cookies

Necessary cookies keep your cart, run the checkout and remember your settings.
Analytics and advertising cookies from Google and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) show how people use the Website and help us measure our ads.
You can accept or decline analytics and advertising cookies in the cookie banner, or block cookies in your browser. If you block all cookies, the cart and checkout may not work.

5. Who We Share It With

We share personal information only with trusted service providers, and only where needed for the purposes above. These include providers of:

our online store, checkout and website hosting;
payment processing;
delivery and courier services;
email and customer messaging;
website analytics and advertising;
product reviews and our rewards programme;
professional services, such as accounting and legal advice.

We also share information with authorities where the law requires it. These parties must protect your information and use it only to provide their service to us.

6. Information Stored Outside South Africa

Some of our service providers store information on servers outside South Africa. We transfer information only where POPIA allows it, for example where the recipient is bound to protect it to a similar standard, or where the transfer is needed to complete your order. Details are available on request.

7. Security and Retention

The Website uses SSL encryption, payments run through secure payment providers, and only staff who need your information can access it.
No system is completely secure. If your information is accessed without authority, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
We keep order and invoice records for as long as tax and company law require, marketing data until you unsubscribe, and messages and claims for as long as needed to resolve them.

8. Your Rights

Under POPIA, you may:

ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy;
ask us to correct or delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it;
object to how we use it, including for direct marketing;
withdraw your consent at any time;
complain to the Information Regulator.

To use a right, email us at support@iotrend.co.za. We may ask you to confirm your identity, and we reply within 30 days.

9. Children

The Website is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect children's information. If you are a parent or guardian and your child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Third-Party Websites

The Website links to other websites, such as manufacturers and WhatsApp. Their own privacy policies apply.

11. Complaints

Please contact us first. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Information Regulator at www.inforegulator.org.za.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on the Website with a new "Last updated" date and, for significant changes, notify subscribers by email.
